Dear readers, this article is about an artwork and Ali, a young artist from Iran. This artwork directly touched my heart when I saw it. It is sad but luminously impactful at the same time. I feel it is also filled with silence, so I do not need to say more. Here is a text from Ali about his masterpiece.
“Because of the kids who live on dumps and their lost dreams”“Because an ordinary life is all we crave”
Well, as you might know, the situation in Iran is very terrible.
People are fighting against the government for the most basic human rights.
Unfortunately, now it’s not just about the most basic human rights, They are fighting for their lives.
My artwork is about “the waste picker child” which is a very common topic in my country.
The waste picker children are somehow forgotten in society.
They have to work since they are so young and at the same time they have to study.
When you talk to them, they start speaking about their dreams. You can see that all of them are actually smart.
They have so many big dreams; but on the other side, life is so hard for them.
The way that they have to live is so unfair.
Most of the waste picker girls get raped since they are a child.
Usually, you can see a 6 or 7 years old-boy who is sifting the trash. When you follow his gaze, you will see that he is looking at a toy store.
Government does nothing for them. Some people help them as much as they can, but unfortunately it is not enough.
I try my best to help them as much as possible, and I hope that everyone can do this so that they may have a better future and a better life.
