Pyro, artist
Pyro is an epic Egyptian artist whose real name is Mohaned Ghandour. He is 35 years old and lives in Cairo, Egypt, where he teaches graphic design, the internet for communication, as well as the consumers’ psychology of their behavior.
Painting and drawing are a means of expressing his inmost and his subconscious realms. To understand his deep vision of the artistic creation, of art, shapes ands shades that mark his work as special, he unfolds his own ‘visions’ about his art as follows:
-“Painting is not copying reality on canvas a second time, a reality which is tamed by the imaginary barriers of creation. It is necessary to see beyond that.
As you know, the aim of art is to give life to a form or to a figure, and when we paint we do not copy, nor do we interpret reality on canvas . In fact, we pour out our souls onto creation through painting. Thus, when I paint a form or a pattern, I snatch some part of our souls by turning it into painting. The shades, the semi-tonalities, the tones, and the lines on canvas constitute the very subject. That confers the essence of art to the work, of supremacy and of originality.
When you watch a work of art, you do not meet the form or the subject but you watch that particular side of the artist’s soul which he wanted to snatch and paint in order to make it immortal.
Our paintings are sides of our souls, our message that carries feelings and hidden gestures. Here lies the delicate link between an artist and his creations.
You are only allowed to observe without even admiring, for the idea of admiration and praise is just ridiculous to an artist. We already think of ourselves as distinguished and supreme.
-To sketch out ( to think strongly)
To sketch out the subconscious, a matter as hard as hell!
My unconscious is full of blue, purple, orange, indigo and much gray.
While sketching out, the artists turn their ideas into colours using the gray or the black colour of the pencil. Therefore, it is necessary to colour the mono.
Presently, I feel overwhelmed by the orange colour, trying to reach some sexual balance in my canvasses to offer more colours to my palette…
Artists are beings who are guided by their souls. And souls do not know frontiers. In being guided by our souls we are somehow imitating animals, questioning our basic instincts. But animals do not know sins;
they do not know taboos, nor do they know our damned symbols.
– Be creative.
– Be your own Half-God.self.
-Take a pencil and free yourself.
Concerning the woman’s body:
I am rather inspired by women. Women are ‘My Muse’.
In her purest aspect, the muse is that feminine side of the artist with whom he must have (sexual) relations if he wants to achieve creation.
The muse is the soul of his state of mind, the yin of his yang. Except in a reversed order of the man’s and the woman’s roles, she allows herself in (his realm) or inspires him and he completes the gestation for creation starting from his mind’s womb. Thus I express the idea through the woman’s body as the main form that transmits the message I want to deliver, and for me that is the perfect way of expression”.
